Our eight members are Dolphin Energy, EnCana, Oryx, Qatar Electricity & Water Company, Qatar Petroleum, Qatargas, RasGas, and Wintershall. Our Team Leader is Yousef Yacoub (QP).

Over a series of meetings and investigations, we have prioritised three recommendations for our sector:

a) Exploration of standardised, competency-based in-house English language training and assessment for employees in the Energy & Industry sector with a view to further integration
b) Matching of English language competencies to established job groups
c) Sharing of experience and expertise between companies

Significantly, the English Competence Team has ratified the QP Competency Framework as a recommended framework for all companies in Qatar’s Energy & Industry sector. Click on the Competencies tab above to find out more.

There are three interest groups associated with this project:

The Materials Review Interest Group
The Competency/Assessment Interest Group
The Multimedia Interest Group.

The second of these recommendations is being tackled by a Job Families Team which builds on QP's own experience of analysing English competence levels in relation to Job Families (or Groups).

We hope the third of the recommendations will be covered to a large degree by this website in addition to our formal and informal contacts with each other.
